Week 15: From the Brink to Blessing

Her world was unraveling.

What began as a relationship with a man who drank too much quickly became a doorway into darkness. When he drank, she drank. When the relationship ended, the damage remained. She kept drinking, alone now — and the spiral went deeper.

The house was falling apart. The garden was overgrown. Her soul was suffocating.
Anxiety clung to her like a heavy fog. Panic attacks came in waves. Her heart began to fail, and so did her will to live. More than once, she stared at the kitchen knife, haunted by the thought: Would anyone care if I disappeared?

Then, one day, while walking through the market, something unexpected happened.
A pastor from her town approached with kindness in his eyes and handed her a small book: The Awesome Power of Blessing.

She took it home, not knowing it would save her life.

Later that night, she began to read — and something broke open inside. Tears streamed down her face. She wept and couldn’t stop. The words pierced her heart. Words of life.
Words of hope.

The next day, she found the pastor again. This time with a question: "Can I know this Jesus you spoke of?"

He led her in prayer. She gave her heart to Christ. Not long after, she was baptized in water — and raised into a new life.

That’s when everything began to change.

The next morning, she woke up and started blessing others — strangers, neighbours, even those who had hurt her. A new strength was rising in her. Then, as if heaven itself smiled, she looked up and saw it — a glowing cross in the sky, just for a few seconds. But it was enough.

She knew she was free.

From that day on, she never touched alcohol again. The panic stopped. Her house became peaceful. Her garden came alive. And so did she.

But the story didn’t end there.

Her mother noticed the change and couldn’t understand it. So, she gave her the same little book. Her mother read it — and her heart was also transformed. She too came to faith in Jesus.

Now, mother and daughter walk together in freedom, their lives rebuilt by the power of blessing and the mercy of God.

And it all began… with a book, a blessing, and a God who never gives up.
