Week 16: From Cursing to Calling Forth Life

Her husband would stumble home drunk — late, loud, and lost in alcohol. Every time it happened, she would meet him at the door with curses. Words of anger. Words of frustration. The cycle was familiar… and hopeless.

But then she came across a little book: *The Awesome Power of Blessing.*
As she read, something shifted in her heart. For the first time, she saw her husband not just as he was — but as God intended him to be. She began to speak differently. Not curses, but blessings. Not insults, but identity.

“I bless you to become the man God created you to be,” she would whisper, sometimes even while he slept.

She blessed him in the morning. She blessed him before bed. She blessed him instead of arguing. And little by little… things began to change.

He started coming home earlier. He wasn’t drinking as much.

The quarrels stopped.

Peace began to reign where conflict had once ruled.

Now, she lifts her hands in gratitude:
“I praise the Lord for honouring the blessing I’ve been speaking over my husband.”

God is restoring what anger could not.

What years of frustration never changed, blessing has begun to heal.

“A gentle tongue can break a bone.”
— Proverbs 25:15 (ESV)

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
— Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)
