Week 19 - David’s New Heart

David sat quietly in the room, listening as the message of blessing unfolded. The teaching
that day was about blessing parents. I asked the children, “Can a parent hurt their child?”
David’s voice broke through the silence: “Yes.”
With trembling lips, he began to explain why. His eyes filled with tears, and soon the pain he carried spilled over.
David’s father had driven his mother away. Now David lived with his mother at his
grandmother’s home. His father had taken another wife, and he showed no love for David.
He would not even pay his school fees. Rejected and abandoned, David’s little heart carried a heavy wound.
But that day something powerful happened. After the teaching, David agreed to bless his
father. Through tears, he spoke words of blessing. As he did, his face changed. He later said: “I feel like I have a new heart. A new life.”
The moment was holy. To seal it, the Pastor asked the other children to bless David in
return and to show him love through gifts. What followed was overwhelming. One after
another, the children promised to give—money for school fees, clothes, shoes, socks, pens, and more.
The atmosphere was filled with love, joy, and healing.
That day, David walked away no longer abandoned, but embraced—by God, by his friends, and by the power of blessing
