Week 30: A Chance Encounter at the Supermarket

She had just finished reading The Awesome Power of Blessing that afternoon — sitting alone with some takeaway food, highlighter in hand, folding the corners of pages she wanted to return to later. The message was fresh in her heart. It wasn’t just information. It felt like an invitation.
Later, she stopped at the supermarket. Outside the entrance sat a young man, asking for help. He explained that he had just lost his job. He was doing his best to support himself and his mother, but things were hard. Very hard.
She gave him a little money, and they began to talk. But today, something was different.
She had just discovered that blessing is not only asking God to do something. Blessing is speaking what God longs to give. Blessing is releasing heaven’s love.
She said: “Can I pray for you?”
But when she opened her mouth, what came out was not a request. It was a blessing.
Words flowed — gentle, strong, full of love and authority:
“May you know how much God loves you.
May God show you that He sent His Son for you.
May your life be lifted up.
May you become one who blesses others.
May God open doors for you and your mother to be provided for.”
She noticed something extraordinary: Her mind refused to speak anything negative. Blessing had taken over.
And then — she handed him the book.
He held it like something valuable.
She walked away quietly, her heart full.
Later she wrote: “Your precious little book is the perfect tract. Those who read it and practice blessing will see God at work in their lives. And changed lives will change lives.”
We never know what one small blessing will begin. But heaven knows. And heaven moves.
