Week 32: Uprooted… and Lifted Again
Share
For twenty-six years he lived in the same home in Auckland.
Steady. Familiar. His place of belonging.
Then one day an eviction notice shattered everything.
At sixty-eight, being uprooted felt overwhelming.
Circumstances beyond his control forced him into a temporary house he didn’t want and never expected to end up in.
He felt unsettled… frustrated… even abandoned by God.
But in that house, something unexpected waited for him—a small booklet:
The Awesome Power of Blessing.
He picked it up, intending only to glance at it… but he kept reading.
The man he was boarding with had received the booklet from Christchurch. A friend—who had overcome depression after reading it—sent it north hoping it might help someone else.
He had never read it, but God knew who would.
As he read, something shifted inside him.
He realised he had been blaming God, even accusing Him of deserting him after forty-three years of faith.
But that day, everything changed.
He blessed the Lord.
He blessed his tenant.
He blessed himself and his circumstances.
And the atmosphere lifted.
Peace entered the room.
His spirit felt light.
Even his tenant sensed the change.
He said:
“I feel different. Completely different.
Thank you for opening my eyes to a truth rarely spoken about.”
This is the quiet miracle of blessing—
changing homes, changing hearts, changing hope.
All glory to Jesus, the One who restores us in the very places we never wanted to be.
