Week 46: The Street Boy Who Found His Way Home

He was only sixteen years old, but his life had already taken a painful turn.
Four years earlier, when he was just twelve, his parents’ marriage collapsed in conflict and divorce.

Arguments filled the home with anger and sorrow. When the familyfinally broke apart,

something inside the young boy broke as well.
Confused and deeply wounded, he left home and began living on the streets.

Street life quickly hardened his heart. Survival became his daily focus. The pain of his
parents’ separation turned into bitterness.

In his young heart he carried anger toward both his mother and his father.
“I hated them,” he later admitted. “I had no love for anyone.”
Years passed like this.

Then one day something unexpected happened.

A small team organised two street gatherings for children. Curious — and perhaps simply
drawn by the presence of people who cared — the young street boy joined the crowd.
What he heard that day surprised him.

They spoke about blessing — about speaking words of life instead of anger, forgiveness
instead of resentment.

But even more powerful was the message behind it: Jesus loved him.

For the first time in many years, hope began to rise in his heart.

Could it really be true that Jesus loved a street boy like him?

As he listened, something inside him softened. The bitterness he had carried for so long
began to loosen its grip.

After the gatherings, he made a courageous decision.
He would go and see his father.

His mother had already passed away, but his father was still alive. The journey back was not  easy. Memories of pain and conflict filled his mind.

Yet the message of blessing kept echoing in his heart.

When he finally met his father, he did something unexpected.

Instead of accusing him, he blessed him.

In that moment something powerful happened inside the young man. The hatred that had
lived in his heart began to dissolve.

Blessing released him from the prison of his past.

Soon afterwards he wrote to the team who had organised the street gatherings.
“I became an ambassador of blessing after attending your gatherings,” he wrote.

Then he shared the decision he had made.
“I want to leave the streets and become a child again within a family.”

He asked if it would be possible to join their team — not as a street child anymore, but as
someone who could help other children.

A young man who once carried hatred now wanted to bring hope to others.

All because someone took the time to share the message of blessing with children on the
street.
